ID America Recreates System Operation Center on Metaverse
〜Creating New Value in System Operations through the Fusion of Real and Virtual 〜
September 2022: INFORMATION DEVELOPMENT AMERICA INC. (Headquarters: Massachusetts, USA, hereinafter referred to as ID America) will conduct a PoC (proof of concept) of a virtual operation center using the Metaverse in order to improve system operation. We are pleased to inform you that we have started a PoC, which aims to realize coordinated operations regardless of time and place by accessing a virtual operation center from multiple distributed physical locations.
■ Overview of Virtual Operation Center PoC
We have built a virtual operation center in the Metaverse, a virtual space on the Internet. It will be accessed from multiple distributed physical locations and verifies the feasibility of tasks such as system monitoring and operation in the virtual space.

■ Purpose and Direction of Initiative
Risk factors to business continuity, such as large-scale disasters and terrorist attacks, are increasing more than ever, and companies are taking various counter measures. Continuous IT system operation is essential for in these instances. Until now, companies have taken measures to increase availability, such as making IT systems redundant and backing up data. However, in reality, IT systems cannot be operated continuously without system operation, so ensuring the continuity of them in the event of an emergency or disaster is considered as one of the important initiatives for companies.
Our group has realized business continuity of customer systems by performing coordinated operations at multiple locations with "Smart Operation", a SaaS-type system service that began in September 2022. In this PoC, communication between bases utilizing Metaverse technology and enhanced cooperation will be verified and realized, which will lead to continuous improvement of services for our customers.
■What is Smart Operation?
"Smart operation" is a SaaS-type system operation service that supports customers' DX objectives through automation by AI and remote technology from our operation bases, regardless of the customer's system configuration (on-premises environment, cloud environment, etc.).
