I was first assigned to a department dealing with system operations. I was stationed at the data center of a client in the finance industry, and was responsible for monitoring dozens of monitors showing hundreds of servers. My job was to respond when there was a problem. Surprisingly, even in my second year at the company, I was entrusted with managing a team of about then people. I fulfilled my duties while communicating with clients and team members.

I have now been transferred to a different department where I work on introducing security products and building server-related systems. For example, I propose security services for checking the parties who accessed systems used by our customers and the time when that access took place, and then automatically sending reports to the person in charge. I also handle cloud system projects. Although my job involves complex interactions with customers and requires good communication skills, I’ve never found it particularly difficult. I believe that my job fits me perfectly because I enjoy talking to people.

One of the most memorable jobs I have ever undertaken was a project where I brought together our entire department’s strength to introduce the services of an American IT company to a Japanese government agency. The client was extremely careful when proceeding with work and had many detailed requests. Naturally, the meetings to communicate those requests to the American company were held in English. Our work involved tasks such as translating all the requests into English, sending them to the American company, and then translating the responses we received back into Japanese. I will never forget the struggle caused by language barriers. Even so, the opportunity to be involved in such a large-scale, complex project as a member of our department was a blessing, and I felt a real sense of growth once it was over.

Since joining the company, I have been transferred to different departments and have experienced work in a variety of fields. I find taking on new challenges to be stimulating and motivating. Going forward, I would like to develop my skills in a particular field so that I hold an unparalleled level of expertise. Moreover, I look forward to expanding the scope of my work by taking on management duties such as providing instructions to other members.

My specific goal is to increase my rank from “sub-leader” to “leader.” Members who become leaders are often responsible for more than ten projects. Similar to senior members, I would like to become capable of working with a broad perspective while handling multiple projects.
